A Quick Overview
Experience The Culture and History of Italy... While Learning The Language!
If you've ever tried learning a language, you know that it can be a difficult task, especially if you aren't surrounded by it. This incredible experience will not only immerse you into the language, but also the regions of Tuscany and Umbria. Two of the most beautiful regions in Italy. We will explore the towns of Pienza, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca, Orvieto and Florence. We will marvel at sights like the David and be blown away learning about how to find good leather and watch pasta being made. And we can't forget our wine tastings and cooking class too! And finally, we will end our experience with 3 nights in Venice, where our lessons will continue and we will explore St. Marks, the Doges Palace, and the Islands of Murano and Burano (known for their glass and lace).
Daily language classes will be taught by Martina Scattolin, who grew up in a VERY tiny town outside of Venice. No, you haven't heard of it. Each class will be approximately 2 hours and will focus on the activity planned for that day. For example, if we are going to a pasta making factory, we will focus on learning words and phrases you will need to know for this activity.
We will be offering 2 different experiences for 2 different levels of language proficiency. In the spring we will be hosting the beginner level (A1-A2), and in the fall the intermediate level (B1-B2). If you don't know which level you should be in, that's ok, we will have a short assessment to see which group you fall in.

Meet Your Team
Kerri Wood - Tour Director
One day, over a decade ago, Kerri stood on a rooftop terrace overlooking the heart of Rome for the first time and knew, in that instant, she was home. Immediately after returning to the U.S. Kerri started a business that would bring her back to Italy every year after that... helping others not make the mistakes she made, and allow them to enjoy, relax and immerse in this amazing country.
Kerri personally plans each and every tour, down to the last detail. She also handpicks her guides and team as much for their passions, as for their unique personality/views that they bring to the tours.
Your 11 Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Italy
Begin your week at the charming Bellavista Hotel in the quaint village of Impruneta. Take some time to get settled in, then in the evening, we will take a short drive to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the sun setting over Florence and have Dinner. After Dinner we will return to Bellavista for some much needed rest.
Day 2 - Chianti and Siena
After enjoying your breakfast at Bellavista and your language class, we will drive through the Chianti, home to the most well-known Italian red wine in the world. Extending over the provinces of Florence and Siena and covering all of the area between. Continuing on to Siena, visiting the cathedral and Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful piazzas in all of Italy.
Day 3: Old Artisan pasta factory, Winery tour, Terracotta workshop
It’s time to explore Montefiorale, rated one of the most beautiful villages in Italy! Birthplace of Amerigo Vespucci, this enclosed castle village is one of the most ancient in the Chianti region. Then we will visit a winery with an astonishing view. Back to Impruneta for our tour of Terracotta Kiln. You will never see terracotta the same as you discover what an amazing art it really is.
Day 4: Parmigiano Reggiano
Get ready for a long and amazing day today. We are heading to the region around Bologna. It's called Emilia-Romagna and it is famous for a cheese you probably know well: Parmigiano Reggiano. We will also be doing a wine tasting and taking a beautiful drive through the countryside.
Day 5: Pisa and Lucca
Today we will then see the famous Tower of Pisa and finish off the day in Lucca. Lucca is one of Tuscany’s real gems. A wonderful place to walk around and experience the culture and atmosphere of being in Italy. Climb the Torre delle Ore clock tower or the Guinigi Tower. With its hanging garden on the top, it offers an outstanding panorama of the city.
Day 6: San Gimignano and San Galgano
We will drive through the countryside to see the beautiful tower village of San Gimignano. This charming town became what you see now during the 10th century. Climb the bell tower for the most spectacular view of the Tuscan Countryside! Next, we will visit San Galgano and it’s breathtaking abbey, completed in 1185. We will close the day with beautiful evening visit to Monteriggioni.
What People are saying!
"What a treat to hear Bartender on our visit to Orvieto! They are three very talented musicians who bring their own sound and arrangement to the songs they perform. My husband is a big fan of Django Reinhardt and they demonstrate the same talent! They played English and Italian songs and left the audience wanting more! Truly a highlight of our visit to Orvieto!"
During your tour you will have a full-time Ultimate Italy Tours Tour Director, as well as your language instructor, Martina, for the entire duration of your experience.
In addition to this, we hire the best local experts to guide you through each sight and activity to bring Italy to life!

On every tour we include at least one wine tasting and/or cooking class... and the opportunity spend time with true italian artisans and artists.
Your language classes will take place every morning after breakfast. Each class will focus on learning the language based on what the day's activity will be. You will learn vocabulary, grammar and phrases to help you use what you learn later that day and that week. You'll even learn to order coffee, a sandwich and more.
Tips and Gratuities

We do this for two reasons. 1) We want to be transparent in our pricing, no additional charges after you sign up. 2) So you don't have to try to guess or figure out what to tip. If you would like to tip on your own, you can, but it is not required or suggested.
